Review Guidelines

Last updated: 1 May 2025

These guidelines help you write reviews that are useful to other vendors while protecting your anonymity and meeting our platform standards. The goal of every review on TruClario is to be specific enough to be useful and vague enough to be safe.

What Makes a Good Review

Good reviews describe patterns of behaviour rather than specific incidents. They give other vendors enough information to make an informed decision without revealing details that could identify the reviewer.

A good review covers:

Payment behaviour — how reliably the company pays and how long it takes
Communication — how responsive the company is to queries and escalations
Contract fairness — whether the company honours the agreed scope and terms
What worked well in the relationship
What the company could do better

Use Factual Language

Describe what happened, not what you think of the company or the people who work there. Factual statements are legally safer and more useful to other vendors.

Better
"Payments arrived 6 to 8 weeks late despite a NET30 agreement. Follow-ups took multiple emails to get a response."
Avoid
"This company is run by fraudsters who deliberately cheat their vendors."
Better
"The engagement manager kept adding deliverables beyond the original scope without raising a change order."
Avoid
"The project manager is incompetent and has no idea how to manage vendors."

Protect Your Anonymity

Even with our architectural anonymity protections, certain details in a review can make you identifiable, especially if you were the only vendor in a particular role. Follow these guidelines to protect yourself.

Use general timeframes not specific dates

Better
"Payment arrived approximately 6 weeks after the agreed date."
Avoid
"Invoice raised on 1st March, payment received on 14th April."

Use ranges not exact amounts

Better
"A significant final milestone payment in the range of Rs 10 to 20 lakhs was withheld."
Avoid
"The final payment of Rs 14,50,000 was not released despite all approvals."

Do not name individuals

Better
"The procurement team was unresponsive to escalations."
Avoid
"Rajesh in the AP team never responded to any of our emails."

Do not mention project names or codes

Better
"During a large infrastructure project in 2024 the payment terms were changed mid-contract."
Avoid
"On Project Phoenix the payment terms were unilaterally changed in Q3 2024."

What Is Not Allowed

The following types of content will be removed during moderation and may result in your account being suspended:

×False statements of fact about the company or its employees
×Personal attacks on named or identifiable individuals
×Confidential information including internal emails, documents, or financial data
×Reviews submitted about a company you have not worked with directly
×Reviews submitted on behalf of another person or organisation
×Competitor reviews designed to damage a company's reputation unfairly
×Reviews from company employees about their own employer
×Threats, harassment, or abusive language of any kind

How Moderation Works

Every review is checked by our moderation team before it goes live. We check for guideline violations, defamatory content, and obvious fake reviews. Most reviews are approved within 24 hours.

If your review is rejected you will receive an email explaining why. You can appeal the decision within 14 days by replying to the email. If you address the issue that led to rejection you are welcome to resubmit.

If your review is hidden after being published you will receive an email with the reason and a 14 day window to appeal.

When a Company Disputes Your Review

Companies can flag reviews they believe are inaccurate or violate our guidelines. We investigate all flags. We do not automatically remove a review because a company requests it.

If we determine that a review contains specific factual inaccuracies we will contact you to give you the opportunity to correct them. If the review is found to be substantially false we may remove it and notify you.

If TruClario receives a legal notice regarding your review we will notify you before taking any action where permitted by law.
